2007 - 2008 School Year
Highland Band Honors
Marching Band
2007 has been a fantastic year for the Eastern Hills High School Highland Marching Band. The band
began its competitive season by earning an excellent rating at the Fort Worth ISD Marching Competition and it also earned
trophies for Best Color Guard, Best Percussion, and Best Drum Major.
The Highlander Band continued its winning season by being named Class A Grand Champions at the University
of Texas, Arlington Marching Contest and winning trophies for Outstanding Music and Outstanding Marching.
They next competed in the USSBA Marching contest and again earned top honors by being named Class AA Grand
Champions and bringing home trophies for Best Music, Best Marching, Best Drill Design, Best Percussion, and Best Color Guard.
The Band was then ready for its biggest challenge - UIL regional competition. Continuing the tradition
originating in 2006, the band earned a Division I rating at the Region 7 University Interscholastic League Marching Competition
in Burleson, TX. This allowed the band to advance to the UIL Area B Marching Competition in Carrollton, TX for
the first time in the band's 46 year history at EHHS.
