Kathy Bernal has been a band director for 24 years, 22 of those in Fort Worth ISD.
Ms. Bernal graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a bachelor's degree in music education and East Texas
State University with a master's degree in music education. As an educator, she has been selected as a Who's Who Among
American Teachers for six consecutive years and received the Bayard H. Friedman for Teacher Excellence in Performing Arts
for 2004-2005.
Before coming to Eastern Hills High School, Ms. Bernal
was assistant band director for Rosebud-Loft ISD where she taught K-12 and was the head band director at Meadowbrook Middle
School for 8 years. Under her direction, the Highlander Band won many prestigious awards. Her current duties include
directing the Marching Band, Symphonic Band and Jazz band. She is a member of the Texas Music Educator's Association,
Texas Bandmaster's Association, Sigma Alpha Iota Music Fraternity and International Association of Jazz Educators. Ms.
Bernal likes running and loves spending time with her mother of 81 years and her chihuahua, Bonnie.
Mr. Montanez has been teaching at Eastern Hills High School since 2005. He began studying
classical guitar at age 5 and later began learning the violin at age 10. He previously taught in the University of North
Texas String Project and spent his student teaching with Julie Blackstock at Creekview High School in Carrollton, Texas.
He holds a bachelor's degree in music education from the University of North Texas. Mr. Montanez is big fan of combat
sports and is currently studying karate and Brazilian Jiu-jitsu.

Mr. True has been teaching at Eastern Hills High School since 2007. He taught clarinet
privately in Decatur, TX and Rhome, TX and student taught under Scott Lewis at Northwest High School and Chris Hassell at Medlin
Middle School. He holds a bachelor's degree in music education from the University of North Texas and is a member of
the Texas Music Educators Association, the International Clarinet Association, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. Mr. True currently
resides in Denton, TX where he enjoys hearing live music, spending time with his friends and with his longtime girlfriend,
Ashley.
Odis Bonner - Director of Bands
- Meadowbrook MS and Asst. Director - EHHS

Mr. Bonner, a Dallas native, has been a band director for 8 years. He started
his band playing career in Dallas ISD before moving to Duncanville, TX under the direction of Tom Shine and Brian Merrill.
Mr. Bonner graduated from the University of North Texas in 1998 with a bachelor's degree in music education under the study
of Dennis Fisher. In 1993, Mr. Bonner marched with the Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps which placed 10th at the Drum
Corps International World Championships. Mr. Bonner has been the head band director at Meadowbrook Middle School and
the assistant director at EHHS since 2006. Prior to this, he was an assistant band director in Bellville ISD
for 2 years and was in Dallas ISD for 4 years, 2 yrs. as an assistant at Skyline HS and 2 yrs. as head director at Spence
MS. Mr. Bonner enjoys performing on french horn, playing football, working out at the gym, and spending time with friends.
Vicki Crutchfied - Director of Bands - Handley Middle School

Vicki Crutchfield has been teaching in FWISD for 29 years. Twenty seven of those years have
been at Handley Middle School. She is a graduate of West Handley Elementary, Handley Junior High, and Eastern Hills High School
(1975). Ms. Crutchfield earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Texas Tech University in 1979. During her career,
she has been President of the Tau Beta Sigma Southwest District, a teacher consultant for the National Geographic Society,
and elected to the State Board of Directors for the Texas Association of Student Councils. She has been selected as a Who's
Who Among American Teachers for four years, and as the 2001 Advisor of the year for the Texas Association of Student Councils.
Ms. Crutchfield is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association, is a Lifetime PTA member, a lifetime Tau Beta Sigma
member, and a member of the Texas Tech Band Alumni Association. Ms. Crutchfield loves to travel. Her favorite places to go
are Australia, New Zealand, England, Alaska, Hawaii, and of course, Las Vegas. She is a true EASTSIDER, and her blood runs
purple.

Andy is a 2005 graduate of Eastern Hills High School and is currently studying music education
at Texas Wesleyan University. He is a percussionist for the praise and worship team at Celebration Fellowship
Church and plays with the Greater Fort Worth Community Band. He holds memberships in the Texas Bandmasters Association
and Lambda Theta Phi fraternity. Andy collects vintage records and enjoys spending time with his family and
longtime girlfriend, Leah

Dimitri Higginbotham - Front Ensemble Specialist

Dimitri is a senior Music Education major at the University of North Texas with a concentration
in percussion. He plans to complete his education degree and continue with a masters in composition or conducting.
He also plays trumpet, piano, and guitar. He is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.
Dimitri enjoys relaxing with his iPod, writing and arranging chamber music and spending time with his girlfriend Hollie and
their two cats, Marble and Maggie.
